Why not find some black-owned businesses to support this Black Friday?
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down and wrote a blog post, but I’m here again with a lot to tell you all.
The past few weeks have been crazy for me. If you didn’t know, Howard University’s Blackburn Center went under lockdown because student protestors occupied the center because of unsafe living conditions, communication issues between students and admin, amongst other things. You can find their demands here. Amidst the chaos, I found myself suffering from a lot of mental anguish and stress. I was going through it.
But in the midst of all the stress, my blog post went viral. That’s right. Within a day, my open letter to Howard garnered over a thousand views. I can’t begin to explain how thankful and happy I am to have encountered so much support and love. I never thought I would be in this position, but I’m so happy that you’re here.

It’s finally Black Friday and with big corporations like Walmart and Target having deals and blow out sales, why not find some Black-owned businesses to support instead? The fight for racial justice is not over, and if there’s ever an opportunity to uplift Black businesses, now is the time.
I must admit I’ve been slacking on keeping up with new Black businesses but I’m so glad to be back with my favorite old and new brands to keep you and your loved ones occupied this winter break. And with Christmas around the corner, why not give a gift to your favorite college student?
