The time is finally here. I’m officially at Howard University! Words can’t describe the excitement bubbling within me right now. After years of daydreaming, planning, stressing, and waiting, I’m finally here at the Illustrious Howard University, and I have no intention on leaving.
Now what would an HBCU be without its infamous darties aka day parties? It’s an essential event within our campus culture, just like pop-outs, yard pics, and Homecomings, and I would be doing y’all a major disservice if I didn’t mention how hot darties can get. Aside from making sure you’re still fresh and keeping up with your friends, you also have to make sure that your makeup is still as good as it looked when you applied it.
With this in mind, I’ve been there and done that with wearing makeup during the summer months, so I’m here to give you my beauty must-haves to keep your makeup looking flawless before, during, and after darties, dates, and more. (Psst! Don’t worry! My faves are all inexpensive.)

It isn’t often that you find a great and inexpensive drugstore foundation, but the L’Oreal Infallible Foundation is just that. With its lightweight and creamy formula, it’s perfect for long summer days and nights.

A cult classic, this inexpensive concealer can be used for just about anything. From minor touch ups to concealing to contour, this E.L.F Camo Concealer is guaranteed to look flawless even hours after application.

I recently found this product through TikTok, and it was probably the best lip product I could have bought. Rubbing this lipstick off with your mask is nearly impossible. It’s hard to get off which depending on your preference can be good or bad. Either way, it’s sure to stay on all day and night.
NYX Slim Lip Pencil Creamy Long-Lasting Lip Liner
At only $4, the NYX Slim Lip Pencil is everything you could want in a lip liner. It has a variety of shades to go with every look and won’t break the bank. What more could you ask for?
Being in college has showed me that life is always about being on-the-go and prepared. The last thing you need as a makeup-wearer is to be worrying about retouches and how your makeup looks throughout the day–especially if you’re trying to go out (safely) to different events.
